Danny Barbare

My Dad

Dad smoked Pall Mall
and drank Miller almost all his life.
He was put in Richard Campbell veteran’s home.
All he wanted was a taco, a Hershey Bar,
and a carton of cigarettes.
He died three times
before he finally passed away from emphysema
after surviving Deliverance Day,
The Battle of the Bulge, Berlin, and Europe.
I hope he was at peace.
He still was a great dad.
